My daughter Lisa is very clever with her camera. Sometimes when it's something I really like I take a picture of the Computer screen and capture her photo so I can have them with me. These are and example. She took pictures of Quinn and her friend son Jackson. SO CUTE!!!

landon and quinn

Well before we leave on our summer trip before going back to school I want to post some pictures of Landon and Quinn.

Baby Quilts

I make baby quilts for the Ward Relief Society and these are two of my latest. The blue will go to Tammy Brashear and her baby boy and the pink to Wendy Graves who is having a girl. Tammy and Wendy are sisters and are due a week apart in September. My goal was to finish them before our trip to Ariz and Utah in Aug. I took them to Michelle Christison last week. They are both done in the disapearing nine-patch design that I pick up from my neice in law Alice over Spring break while in Utah. They make up so easy and quick. I've even taught it to some of my high school student who have had lots of success with it.

laura birthday

We took Laura out to eat a our local mexican resturant and then home for cake, gifts and gifts.

more of Idlewild

One view of the Thousand Trail camp ground.

This site has a fishing pond and this family were caghting some nice trout.

They also have horse back riding. I took these pictures because the rangler told us the story of how she got this mustang. She (the horse) was rescued by the PLM in the Big Horn Mountain in Wyoming. Family and friend will know that thats where I grew up. The tatoo on her neck is a government brand that indicates that she is a true wild mustang. Well now she is very much loved by the rangler and campers alike in the mountains of Southern California.

idlewild getaway

We needed a quick escape from the chores on the Spencer's "Farm" so we packed up and went to the mountains above Hemet Ca. - Idlewild- Our friends from Hemet, Chris and Michele came up on our second evening and had dinner with us. It was a very nice exit from the heat.

These mountains are know for the Manzanita tree. It has beautiful dark red wood and is protected. One of the rangers stop while we were taking pictures and told us that the berries are edible which we never knew. He said the locals boil them when they turn red and make jelly. We found a small clump of ripe red ones and tried them and they were very good.

nap time

After church on Sunday we all took a nap. Derrick was out of town so I spent the week end with Lisa and the kids and she came to church with us. Of course Quinn is in her favorite spot and so is Triton our Australian Terrior that is next to me wheather I want him or not. Actually he is a lot better with Landon and Quinn than I thought he might be before we had grandkids. He terorizes Bella and Roxy (the other two dogs that we have here) Bella -Lisa's dog and Roxy Cody's. Roxy is the border collie that you see with the goats in my last posting.
